Braeburn Glen Neighborhood Association started "Yard of the Month" in March 2008.  Calloway's is now sponsoring our neighborhood Yard of the Month.  Each first place winner will receive a $25 Calloway's gift card.  Happy gardening and good luck.          

Please help keep our neighborhood looking tidy and remember our bulk trash pick up day is the week of the first Monday in the month so trash should not be put out earlier than the Thursday prior to that Monday.   This is a city ordinance and could result in a fine from the city if trash is put out at other times.

Criteria for Yard of the Month:

Lawn:  Grass shall be mowed and edged with no bare spots.

Flowers:  no plastic flowers.   It is not fair to others.

Landscape & Flower Beds:  Beds are to be weeded and edged.  Flowers deadheaded anddead plantes removed.  Trees and surubs should be pruned.  Note:  Flower are not required to win Yard of the Month, but 99% of the winners have beautiful flowers.

Walkways and Driveways:  Shall be neat and clean, porches.  Trash containers and yard products removed from view.  Area in front of curb free from debris and dirt, exceptions will be made during the scheduled city bulk trash pick up times. 

Overall YOM:  is very competitive and many times the voting comes down to the way the yard is mowed or edged, bald spots in the grass,  and weeds or grass growing in the flower beds.   all homes are nominated by block captains and YOM comittee.   Block captains can nominate yards anywhere in our neighborhood and are not restricted to just there block.  The nominations are normally received by the second or third week in the month.   Voting it at the end of the month, normally on a Sunday afternoon or early evening.
